The program is designed to address new kind of social strain arising from gaps between ASPIRATIONS and SKILLS in the middle / higher middle class in metro as well as non-metro settings.

DSD will be a 2-semester 45-credits course.

In the last two decades, patterns of social strain have changed. We can notice distributed cases of new forms of social strain in middle-class and higher middle class in metropolitan as well as non-metropolitan cities. There is a need for a new approach to Social Development to address this new type of social strain. The DSD Program prepares experts to handle this phenomenon.

This approach to social development requires a conceptual shift because the traditional approach of “social welfare” has been correlated with reaching out only to the bottom of the pyramid, the downtrodden, the challenged, the underprivileged, and those hit by calamities.

The DSD Program opens several career opportunities for those who would like to lead a flexible career, based on personal drive and significance.
